This same abstract has been accepted to the Wound Ostomy Continence Nurses National Conference (WOCN) in Charlotte, North Carolina, held this June 9th – 13th 2012. Jan will be presenting her Poster during scheduled presentation times through the course of the conference. The dressing studied during her case studies is made of polymeric membrane and is used for the wounds of fingers and toes and decreases the healing time and the number of dressings needed to heal the wound.
Jan is also busy with several projects that involve the study of different products in wound care, ostomy care, and continence care, as well as foot and nail care. The conferences she attends each year are filled with a very busy schedule of classes on new and improved methods and products used for these specialty services. She is determined to find the best practice and evidence based uses of these products and concepts in wound, ostomy, continence, and foot care nursing.
