August 2008

Jan went to Mason City, IA on August 11th and 12th to shadow her former nursing instructor, JoAnn Ermer-Seltun, RN, MS, CWOCN, FNP; her former continence instructor with the internet based webWOC nursing program. Jan found that there are a number of patients plagued with continence issues. Jan shadowed JoAnn to further prepare her to assist the Long-Term Care facilities in meeting the needs of their residents and to better comply with new Medicare/Medicaid regulations. Jan will be able to provide a simple exam, simple testing, and individualized bowel and bladder training programs. She will assess the needs of the patient and the facility to develop and implement management plans, eliminate long-term product use, and educate staff, patients, and families regarding effective techniques to decrease the frequency of the problems they have. Jan will work closely with the patient's physician to enhance their expertise in these conditions.

Jean Romsa and Travis Harrison are brought on as new employees. Jean is brought on as the Office Manager and Travis is brought on as the Internet/Graphics Manager.
